IMPROVE ACCESS TO OUR CITY FOR ALL

Tuesday, 18 January, 2022

Bath Conservatives are calling on the Council to spearhead a new approach to access issues in the City.  The call follows months of wrangling over the so-called "ring of steel" barriers, forcing blue badge holders to ring ahead to gain access, concerns over e-scooter safety for blind residents, lack of easy access to public toilets, and the closure of the Council's mobility-scooter hire service.

"There are too many access issues for disabled and other mobility-challenged people in Bath" said a spokesman. "This must change."

The Conservatives have been inspired by the historic city of Chester which has won international awards for its actions to improve accessibility, and have pledged that If they win power in 2023, they will adopt a similar approach in Bath.
