It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Cllr Chris Pearce. He passed away peacefully on the evening of April 30th.
Chris was elected as Councillor for Kingsmead Ward in 2015. He served on the Avon Pension Fund Committee, the Pension Fund Investment Board and on the Bath City Forum.
We will always remember him as a loyal, hard working colleague who never stinted in his efforts to further the aims of Bath Conservatives. At election times, he took on extra duties with the zeal of a man 20 years younger. In particular his contribution to the local election victory of 2015 was vital.
In discussion or debate his integrity, clear thinking and wry good humour would engage everyone around the table. Very little escaped the attention of his enquiring mind, he always wanted to know the full story.
The residents of his Ward were very well represented as Chris pursued two long standing projects, the Marlborough Lane junction at Julian Road and the pedestrianisation of Kingsmead Square. Thanks to his campaigning, work on the junction is nearing completion and later this year the Council will introduce an experimental traffic scheme in Kingsmead Square.
There is a real sense of loss amongst his colleagues and he will be terribly missed by his two sons and Dominique, his wife of 38 years, all of whom are very much in our thoughts at this sad time.
